Mission: To promote recreational boating safety through education and civic activities while providing fellowship for our members.

What We Are
Organized in 1914, United States Power Squadron (USPS) is a non profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects.
Our members are boating-oriented families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating through education. We enjoy participating with our fellow members on the water, in social and community service functions, and in the classroom.
USPS has some 60,000 members organized into 450 squadrons across the country and in some US territories. USPS is America's largest non-profit boating organization and has been honored by three US presidents for its civic contributions.
Our Albermarle Sail & Power Squadron (ASPS) was formed in 2003 and its members are from Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan and Tyrell Counties, North Carolina.

Why Become A Member
ASPS membership offers many benefits for everyone who enjoys boating and a "marine environment". Members are encouraged to get involved with the Squadron in making the area waters safer and at the same time enriching their lives and having good old-fashioned fun. ASPS' activities involve the three primary objectives of USPS:
Boat Insurance savings are also a great benefit. There are many marine insurance companies that provide discounts to those who complete advanced boating courses. These savings can be significant.
